Here are a few quick practice pictures for our week 1 homework. Looking at them, it's harder than I thought to align to the "thirds grid" which I was trying - and introducing a few lines at the same time:
Alignment of the next two different - first on the door and sign, 2nd on the window edge - give a very different picture yet are very similar. I would like opinions as to which is better and why!

ReplyDeleteI think some of the difficulties you mention are due to the fact that because you have mostly photographed buildings and are using a wide angle lens you are suffering from perspective distortion and so the efforts you are making to use the rule of thirds is diluted, have a go at photographing things other than buildings, even things such as a park bench agains the grass or leaves in the road, almost anything that doesn't rely on straight verticals to look 'right' See you later
